Unlike other natural supplements that only can be made from one specific plant or ingredient, velvet antler extract can be harvested from a variety of animals. While it is traditionally made from deer antlers, at BioProtein Technology, we have worked hard to perfect an ancient recipe in order for you to enjoy the most amount of benefits possible.

Elk Antler is the Best Source for Velvet Antler Extract

While many manufacturers switch to using synthetic versions or still use deer antler, at BioProtein Technology, we know that elk actually offer a higher quality of product. While all members of the Cervidae family have the amazing regeneration abilities that originally intrigued Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, they don’t all offer the same quality of product.

Deer are smaller, generally not very healthy, and they do not live very long lives. This led us to search for another animal that is healthier, which is how we found elk. As bigger, healthier animals, elk grow much larger antlers, which allow us to harvest more velvet antler extract from less animals. We have our very own elk farm in Idaho, where we strive to make sure they live happy lives and are treated humanely. Not only do we believe all animals deserve to be treated with respect, but we also acknowledge that when the animals are happy and healthy, the VAE will be of a much higher quality.

We have also perfected the act of harvesting the velvet antler extract. When they grow too large, the antler will naturally fall off and begin to regenerate. So, instead of waiting until they fall off, we clip them when they are still rich in IGF-1. This process can be equated to trimming your nails; we have made sure the clipping is stress free and painless for the elk as well.
